Frequently asked questions

Where is Pray Counseling located?

We’re at 1448 E. Center, Suite A-1, Pocatello, ID 83201, and we also see clients across Idaho by secure telehealth. Medication management and hormone support are available by telehealth in Idaho and Utah.

Do I have to be religious to come to Pray Counseling?

No. We offer both Christian-based and completely secular therapy, and the choice is entirely yours. Many of our clients prefer non-religious care, and they’re just as welcome — you decide how much, if any, faith is part of your work.

What is EMDR, and are you really EMDR specialists?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their emotional charge. EMDR and trauma work are core to our practice — several of our therapists are EMDR-trained.

What happens after I reach out?

When you submit our contact form or call or text (208) 220-6891, we respond quickly and can set up a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll learn what you’re looking for and match you with the right therapist.

Is Brian accepting new clients?

Yes — Brian Land, a Registered Counselor Intern with nearly 30 years of corrections experience and a heart for trauma recovery, is currently accepting new clients. Reach out and we’ll get you scheduled.

Do you offer telehealth (online therapy)?

Yes. We see clients by secure video telehealth across Idaho, as well as in person at our Pocatello office. Medication management and hormone support are offered by telehealth in Idaho and Utah.

Do you offer medication or ketamine-assisted psychotherapy?

Yes. Medication management, hormone support, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) are provided by our qualified medical provider, Dr. McKenzie Decker (DNP, APRN, FNP-C), and always begin with a consultation and medical screening. These work alongside your therapy.

Do you take insurance?

Pray Counseling works with many major insurance plans and offers self-pay options. Our front office is happy to help you verify your mental-health coverage before your first visit — call or text (208) 220-6891.
